We have built an app platform called ZAP that allows you to quickly and easily create a custom mobile app to meet your research needs.
OARC’s Mobile Research, Cloud and Data group works with clients and research partners to creatively tackle complex challenges related to mobile, data, cloud, sensors and internet-of-things (IoT) technologies. We help clients embrace the mobile ecosphere to deliver engaging mobile app experiences tailored to the appropriate audience and special populations to collect critical data in the field. We have built an app platform called ZAP, the Zenith App Platform to quickly get your app ideas up-and-running.
Our technology competencies include cross-platform mobile app development, gamification and mobile user experience, augmented reality (AR), data visualization, and web dashboards. The team has deployed a variety of mobile research apps in collaboration with UCLA faculty and external partners that offer novel research data collection and data management solutions in mobile health, clinical research, and educational workflow research.

Services
- We are available to partner on grants where our services are written into the proposal. We help write innovative research proposals, assist with IRB protocols, and write data management plans. We have experience working on federal grants funded by NIH, NSF, and the VA.
- We are also available to develop custom mobile solutions for your research projects on a cost-recovery basis.
- Custom mobile apps can be developed that integrate directly with any number of sensors.
- You can design a low-cost mobile app for your research project’s needs using the Zenith App Platform. Support MOUs are developed on a case by case basis and are tailored to the requirements of each mobile app.
- Custom mobile app integrations can be blended with your dynamically managed mobile content, however, this increases costs and maintenance support requirements.
- Support via recharge members of our team for medium- or long-term engagements
- We provide consulting services for any researchers or groups requiring technical support for their mobile app, regardless of whether or not OARC were the primary developers of the app.
- We will help you publish your mobile app as an official UCLA application in the Google Play or Apple iOS stores.
