UCLA Web Accessibility Initiative (UWAI)

The UCLA Web Accessibility Initiative’s (UWAI) mission is to elevate the accessibility of UCLA’s high-priority, student-facing websites to W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), level AA and to promote accessible design practices. Managed by OARC’s Disabilities and Computing Program, UWAI has remediated 37 of UCLA’s most important websites to WCAG AA level compliance and remediated over 1,500 PDF documents. They offer an ongoing training program and provide a fully accessible WordPress theme for any UCLA unit at no cost. UWAI works closely with other campus units, such as BruinLearn, to make UCLA’s digital spaces and content more accessible and inclusive.
