Andrew Browning
Andrew Browning is the Research Web and Data Platforms Manager for the Office of Advanced Research Computing. He is also on the advisory board for the Department of Computer Engineering & Computer Science at California State University Long Beach. He previously served on the board of Santa Monica Dragons Lacrosse, served as President of Santa Monica Vikings Youth Lacrosse, Served as the Chair for the Santa Monica Field Sports Advisory Council, and was a Candidate for Santa Monica City Council in 2020.
Before coming to UCLA, Andrew worked in IT global services specializing in the lean delivery of IT services for the healthcare staffing industry. Andrew also worked as a researcher at California State University Long Beach focussing on intermodal drayage efficiency and its externalities and was a California Space Grant Scholar working on the California Launch Vehicle Initiative.
Andrew, along with other members of OARC, is currently working on an NSF/NIST funded symposium entitled, "Strategy for Resilient Manufacturing Ecosystems." Andrew and his team are working on a Proctor and Gamble funded dental recommender engine for the UCLA School of Dentistry, and they are also working with CESMII performing verification of their proprietary platform.
Andrew's interests include intermodal logistics, smart manufacturing, elegant design, software engineering, and project management. Andrew is also a musician and performs with the UCLA Old Time Ensemble and his roots band, Andrew Browning And The 9 Pound Hammers.
