Davida Johnson oversees technology-centered programs and initiatives within and external to UCLA that focus on developing partnerships and building communities to share knowledge, expertise, and promote innovation among tech professionals and enthusiasts. Davida also has oversight over the development and execution of policies and practices governing the staff of OIT through OIT HR, Organizational Development, and Communications. 

Davida started her career as a Research Assistant for the Center for Theoretical Studies of Physical Systems at Clark-Atlanta University, where she worked as a research assistant for a grant form the Army Research Labratory, to develop software programs for target detection of grant foreign military tanks.  Davida continued her career as a software developer for Accenture, then in various technical project manager roles at Warner Bros.  Having earned a joint B.S. degree from M.I.T. in Humanities (Creative Writing) and Computer Science Engineering, Davida’s diverse background helps to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical people, a necessary attribute in her current role as Managing Director, Programs and Practices at the UCLA Office of Information Technology. She is an avid supporter for women in technology and leads the UCLA WIT committee.
