HPC Software

Almost 400 unique HPC software packages are available on the Hoffman2 cluster, including programming languages, compilers, computational libraries, and application software packages to support campus' research activities in computational and data sciences. The application domains range from atmospheric sciences to engineering, from economics to plasma physics, from chemistry to medicine. Several commercially licensed software packages are also available. Some of the packages or libraries are capable of running in parallel using MPI (Message Passing Interface) to take advantage of the Hoffman2 cluster's Infiniband networking capabilities, while others utilize GPUs for accelerated computing. OARC’s HPC specialists and researchers with knowledge about these software packages are available for consultations and possible research collaborations.

More information about the software available on the Hoffman2 cluster is available online. Submit a request for HPC consultations through the cluster support online ticketing system.
